All tryouts will be held at 99 Lakeside Drive, Braintree, MA (Flaherty School)

The Bay State Thunder, based out of Braintree, is entering its 20th season as one of the top club softball teams on the South Shore.  It is our philosophy – In order to field competitive teams, we only support one team in each age bracket (10 thru 18U) along with some practice squad players on the younger team(s). 

Each team will play in fall (1-2) and summer (5-6) tournaments* along with various local scrimmage games and joint practices.  Our home field is Flaherty Field in Braintree for outdoor practices/games (March – November).  We currently have arrangements with Atlantic Baseball Club in Hanover and Braintree Baseball Club in Braintree for our indoor sessions (October thru April)/(2-3/week throughout winter).  

*Our 10U team will play 1-2 summer tournaments along with various local scrimmages.

We pride ourselves on our dedicated coaching staff that is made up of a mix of current and former college players / Thunder Alumni and longtime adult coaches.  Our goal is to teach young girls the “art/love of softball” through preparation/education & hard work – then help them achieve the next level (12’s to 14’s / 14’s to 16 & HS Varsity / 16/18’s to college (if they desire).
